From June 13 through July 4, Team DBA will join 25 other cyclists on a 1500-mile bike ride from Seattle to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their mission? To raise $500,000 to support the building of a hospital in rural Ecuador where more than a third live in extreme poverty.
Helping in pre-event planning and public relations, Team DBA is proud to be supporting Andean Health 1500, an event of Andean Health & Development (AHD), an organization changing the way health care is being delivered in rural Ecuador. To date, AHD has completed one hospital. Its second and newest Hesburgh Hospital in Santo Domingo, will be completed with the infusion of $1.5 million to build a research and training wing. For both hospitals serving Ecuador’s rural communities, a primary goal is to operate as self-sustaining hospitals.
We invite you to take a minute to check out Andean Health 1500 and Andean Health & Development. Consider becoming a sponsor or individual contributor – all levels of support are welcomed and needed. Be sure to tell them we sent you by selecting Team DBA for AH1500 in the drop-down menu “I want my donation dedicated to.”
